Hickok liked to gamble at cards and while playing in a poker game, he was shot in the back by Jack McCall, on August 2, 1876. Wild Bill was holding Ace's and Eight's when he was shot, forever after called the "Dead Man's Hand." Calamity Jane (1852-1903) was the nickname of Martha Jane Canary
