Mojave National Preserve, Utah - Cinder Cones

Text on back: Cinder Cones. A cinder cone is a steep cone-shaped hill made up of volcanic fragments. These fragments accumulated around and downwind from the vent. Cinder cones can range in size from tens to hundreds of feet high. The cinder cones found in the Mojave National Preserve are among the best preserved in the world.
