Underwoods Bar-B-Q began in Brady, Texas during the Great Depression in the 1930s. In the 1950s, it expanded to Amarillo and other locations. At their peak, there were more than 30 locations. The only location left today is in Brownwood, Texas. The location in Amarillo was at 301 Amarillo Boulevard (Route 66.)
Underwood's was great in Amarillo. It's still great in Brownwood Tx Recently, I was in one of the old locations in Amarillo. It's now a business for mobile homes and RVs.
