National Parking Postcard - The U.S. National Park Service maintains nearly 400 natural, cultural and recreational sites across the nation. The first national park system in the world, the park service was created in 1916 and now entertains some 275 million people yearly who marvel at the many natural and historic wonders and enjoy the recreational opportunities the parks provide. The images depicted here were created by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in the 1930's and 1940's.
