Native Americans used the bones of the animals to make beads, believing that the souls of the animals still lived in the parts of their bones. Buffalo or Bison symbolized a number of characteristics including gratitude, abundance, consistency, strength, stability, and prosperity.
Feathers are also symbolic represented the power of the thunder gods, along with the power of air and wind. Native American Chiefs wore feathers to symbolize their communication with Spirit, and to express their wisdom.
Effigies are 2 to 2.5" long and have holes in the top for stringing.
